CardTogether 🎨

How many people actually sign a group card?

Across the group cards currently live on CardTogether, the ones that get shared and actually used average 17.0 signers each (median 11). Most created cards never get shared at all: only 5.3% of the 75 cards in the current data have at least one message.

Computed 2026-07-28 from live production data. See methodology below.

What we could not measure

We looked for the most common occasion by reading card titles, but almost every card on CardTogether keeps the default "New Card" title rather than being renamed to something like "Sarah's Farewell Card", so an occasion breakdown could not be computed honestly from the title text. We are not publishing a guess.

4 of 75 cards in the current snapshot have at least one message. The signer and message averages above that matter most (per active card) are computed only from that active set, so a card someone created and never shared does not drag the numbers toward zero and misrepresent what a real, used card looks like.

Methodology

These numbers are computed directly from CardTogether's live data store on every deploy, by a script that counts cards, unique contributor names per card, and GIF attachments. No message text or contributor names are read into this page: only counts.

Cards on CardTogether automatically expire and are deleted 60 days after creation, so this is a snapshot of cards currently stored, not a lifetime total of every card ever made.

This page is regenerated from live data every time CardTogether is deployed, so the numbers above reflect the data store as of the date shown, not a one-time or hand-updated figure.
