Accessibility

CardTogether is meant to be usable by everyone, including people who use a keyboard, a screen reader, or other assistive technology. We build to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA as an ongoing effort, and we may not have caught every issue.

Measures we take

• The whole app is operable by keyboard, including creating a card, adding a message, searching for and selecting a GIF, and dismissing announcements.
• Visible focus indicators so you can see where keyboard focus is at all times.
• A "skip to main content" link on every page for keyboard and screen reader users.
• Text and interactive elements meet WCAG AA contrast requirements.
• Form fields have programmatic labels, not just placeholder text.
• Semantic HTML structure (headings, landmarks, lists) so assistive technology can navigate the page meaningfully.
• Reduced-motion preferences are respected where the interface animates.

We run automated and manual accessibility checks before launch and as we ship changes.
